Data deletion
You can request deletion of data stored in the Softora archive without deleting the original conversation from WhatsApp.
How to request deletion
- Email serve@softora.nl with the subject Softora Read Archive deletion request.
- State whether the request concerns the complete connected archive or a specific phone number or conversation.
- Include only the minimum information needed to identify the relevant data. Do not email message contents or identity documents unless Softora specifically and securely requests them.
- Complete the reasonable verification step Softora sends in reply.
What happens next
- Softora acknowledges the request and verifies that the requester may access or delete the relevant data.
- Matching archived messages, contact records, searchable indexes and pending encrypted webhook copies are deleted or irreversibly anonymized where technically applicable.
- If YCloud is active for the connected number, Softora also uses the available provider controls or submits a provider deletion request for the synchronized copy and reports that scope separately.
- The request is normally completed within 30 days. Softora explains any lawful exception or necessary extension.
- Softora sends confirmation after completion.
Important: this process deletes the Softora Read Archive copy and, where applicable, requests deletion of the synchronized provider copy under Softora's control. It does not delete messages from either participant's WhatsApp app. Delete those messages separately in WhatsApp if that is also desired.
Disconnecting the integration
The account owner can also revoke the app's access through Meta Business settings and disable or delete the corresponding YCloud channel and webhook. Revocation stops future access but may not itself remove data already stored by Softora or the provider. Use the deletion request above if the stored copies must also be erased.
